The Aircon Doctor: Avoid Low Suction Pressure

When it comes to the extensive range of services we offer for aircon, refrigeration, and heating; our work goes far beyond the contracting and installation of equipment for your business.

Tony Marsh, our Aircon Doctor, is back with his advice on low suction pressure and air conditioning systems.

A key issue that affects the efficient operation of your air conditioning system is the unwelcome presence of low suction pressure.

There are many causes of low suction pressure, including low indoor temperature, dirty filters, restricted ducts, undersized ducts, closed dampers, frosted coils, restricted refrigerant line, restricted piston, restricted strainer, and bad indoor evaporator motor. The list of reasons for this is extensive.

Refrigerant gas leaks effect the efficiency of the air conditioning system and often prevents it from working at all, another common problem is also low load. This simply means that there is not enough warm moisture laden airflow across the evaporator coil. Classic causes include poor design or equipment selections accompanied with poor installation quality.

Unfortunately, in a price-driven market cost is generally the first key consideration, rather than the required design consistency and application. As such, any perceived short term financial gain eventually becomes a guaranteed, long term financial loss.

We feel it is essential to understand the requirements needed for your application. Low suction pressure can be an indication that a system design or installation may not be fit for purpose.

At Aircon Group; the design, supply, and installation comes with a cast iron guarantee for your peace of mind that your application is covered.

Taking all environmental and efficiency measures into consideration, our contract managers undertake a detailed site survey on every project and collate the necessary information to perform accurate heat load calculations to ensure the equipment being selected will suit your application correctly. In our experience, an honest and open approach is best with our clients.

Now more than ever, with Covid-19 and its variants still present in society, it is important to make sure that your business is as safe as possible for staff and customers.

All new installations include AirSafe, our water-based, environmentally friendly, pH-neutral sanitiser, which can kill 99.99% of all enveloped viruses in just 60 seconds and stays active for six-months guaranteed. This can also be applied to existing systems following a thorough bio-clean.

AirSafe is suitable for a wide range of locations, including bars and restaurants, nightclubs, hospitals, doctors’ surgeries and clinics, supermarkets and small shops, offices and communal workspaces, colleges and universities, libraries, waiting rooms, and more.
